Dear and esteemed colleagues,
In line with the announcement, and with particular pride, we would like to inform you about an event organized by our section entitled “EU Regional Development Dialogues: From Policy to Research”, which will take place on 28 and 29 September 2026 in Split (Split Technology Park).
The first day of the conference will focus on topics of regional development and cohesion policy, bringing together representatives of the European Commission, development agencies, public institutions, and the academic community. Through panel discussions and thematic sessions, participants will discuss the future of cohesion policy, territorial challenges, industrial transitions, and regional development in the context of new European policies.
We would especially like to highlight the second day of the conference, which will be organized as the Regional Science Research Incubator Workshop, intended primarily for PhD students and early-career researchers. The aim of the workshop is to enable young researchers to present their research ideas, works in progress, or methodological approaches, and to receive detailed feedback from experienced international researchers in the field of regional science. The workshop is conceived as a mentoring and workshop-based format, with plenty of space for discussion, comments, and advice related to the further development of research and the publication of papers.
Participation in the conference is free of charge, but participation in the Research Incubator Workshop requires submitting an application in accordance with the instructions in the call for applications (attached).
Please share this information with PhD students, early-career researchers, and colleagues whom you believe might be interested.
All information about the details of the annual meeting and the application process can be found in the attached program and call for applications.
